This whiteboard is large and can be mounted horizontal or vertically. It has a tray for the markers and eraser. (The board comes with 1 black marker)
It is well made. Others I have mounted have lifted in 1 corner and did not stay flush against the wall. It is easy to put on the tray and mount. All hardware is included.
The surface is smooth and easy to write on. The dry erase marker wiped off easily with a paper towel.
This is perfect for business meetings, class rooms, and working 1 on 1 with people. Writing things down can get out some hidden feelings to then wipe away. I have received the item was free in exchange for your honest opinion.
Bought the 3x5 because my fiancГ© is starting more advanced math and it makes examples easier. Decided on the DuraMax because I don't ever want to buy another board because of "ghosting."
I installed it myself. Two people may or may not have made it easier. Installation was straight forward: Measure wall, mark and install anchors... hang board (center on wall), find studs and mark bottom of frame... remove board from wall and pre drill holes for lower frame support ... rehang with marker tray, tighten screws done!
Only complaint was the metal wall anchors provided. I opted for plastic anchors I had in the garage because the fine thread machine screws (super cheap) stripped when advancing into the metal anchors. They probably stripped because when the anchor was pushed through the drywall the rounded anchor body that flares and grabs the wall was compressed (bent) such that it was now convex instead of concave (this would cause the metal to buckle inward toward the screw instead of outward toward the wall). I probably could have been super careful when advancing the anchor through the drywall holes, but once the second anchor stripped on me I figured why waste any more time.
I had no idea how often we'd use the board for our son (7 year old) and am still very happy with the purchase. The black metal frame had a small dent on its face when it came out of the box, but once the board was hung it was not noticeable because of the flat black finish. We'll always wonder if the mahogany frame would have matched our furniture, but thought it was too big a risk because we were buying online.
I bought my board through an authorized online vendor at a great price. The price was the lowest I could find with shipping and was apprehensive of whether or not I'd be able to register for the warranty. Fortunately, Quartet has a list of authorized vendors on their web page to reassure you the price and vendor are legit.
It is 48 x 34.25 inches, not 48 x 36. I was wanting to place it next to the 2543B unit which is 3 x 2 feet, but turned sideways it would be 2 x 3. It is 36 inches, but that doesn't match the 34.25 inches of the other unit. I called Quartet support before purchasing to confirm dimensions, but they don't have exact dimensions (only the false, rounded off info on the web site).
I received the S Series LAC STEEL ALU 3X4 ALUMINUM as an free sample to review and the board offers magnetic features that was great for hanging in office. After continue use, it still held up and presented a white board without traces that it was ever used or written on. The board also was easy to erase and easy to clean up. I would recommend the board for anyone that is looking for an easy assemble board that also stays white after many uses.
I am a complete novice at writing reviews. In fact when I when I was looking up the phone number on the website I commented who is writing reviews for a whiteboard? Once I found the number and called the customer service to see if they offered some small replacement corner pieces we had lost in an office move I was told they would ship them out to me free of charge in 3-5 days. This is rare any company would do something they didn't need to for free and was not only refreshing but unexpected as well. The whiteboards are great. Good quality and the company customer service is OUTSTANDING! BTW no time spent on hold to get somebody. :)
