I have used this calendar for years to keep track of my appointments. The features that I like are
1. the whole month at a glance
2. enough space allowed for each day
3. academic year calendar
4. professional looking black
5. right size - not too small or thick

It completely depends on your needs but I have used this format for managing my family (& some work) schedules for about 25 years. Perfect for school calendar uses and more.

We use these calendars to schedule our meeting facilities in our parish. Can't do without them!

Great for a student because it is strong/doesn't feel too flimsy, is notebook paper length so fits in bookbag well. However, I rather prefer something wider/shorter and wirebound for me since I do not carry around stuff this big on the day to day. So I gave this to my high school daughter to stay organized for school this year. We both are quite visual, moderate ADHD, and this is nice because it doesn't have all the extra bells and whistles to distract you from your daily goals.

This is my favorite calendar- it is light and thin and I appreciate the lines for keeping things "straight". Wish they made a 5 year version for the academic calendar.
