I am a medical fellowship coordinator. Each year we interview about 25 prospective candidates for one available training slot. I make approximately 10 personell files per applicant. Color coding all 10 files per applicant with a specific color imprints a color in my memory allowing me to go directly to that color which I associate with each applicant. It saves time, and if asked, I can say that he or she is in a blue, red, orange, yellow, or green folder.
