I love the fact that all files have a front and back and, most importantly, the top is easy to read. Of course, you have to make sure you are 100% organized before you begin making the labels - they aren't cheap - but they are so worth the effort!
Every single work day it was a struggle to sort the mail into our staff's "mailboxes" (hanging files) because the flat labels on the files were hard to see and hard to read. Then I purchased ViewablesВ® Color Labeling System and installed it. Wow, what a difference! Hanging files were now color-coded by department, making it a breeze to locate individual staff. The wrap-around labels could be viewed from the top, the front, and the back. I have been using Smead Viewables for several years, I love them. It doesn't matter which side of the filing drawer I am on, I can always locate the file I need. And since they started coming in colors, I can color code my way through the files. I just visited your booth at the IAAP EFAM event in Milwaukee. Thank you!
These are great to organize your files and create a file system for schools, especially, my only issue is that the software does not allow you to upload/inport large amounts of information for labels. You have to type every single label individually. For a school like mine with over 700 students, this makes it very tedious and labor intensive. The ability to mail merge or inport the data into the SMEAD viewables software would make this more useful and efficient for large labeling/filing projects.
Great and easy to use software, shame I can not print. Every time I go to print the software crashes. I have done all the usual, rebooted, uninstalled and still no joy. They need to catch up with Avery where it can all be done on the web.
