Awesome tool!

I just recently purchased this tool and I love it because it is so handy around my house from cutting cardboard and carpet.

Easy to use

Bought this to use knife for a home DIY project using vinyl tiles. The grip was was a winner, use of knife was easy and the blade stayed locked in place unlike other brands. It’s a winner.u

Ridiculous

Impossible to follow directions to get blades out. I would give it no stars if possible. What is black button in back used for. Apparently nothing. Most useless tool I have ever purchased. Would return if I could remember where I got it. Black triangular insert fell off in process and can’t get it back on.

push button blade release does not work

Stanley sent me 7 to replace 1 that did not work. ALL SEVEN DID NOT WORK!. 9 utility knives in total, failure rate 100%

Not for the Average Person

Bought this knife to use at my part time job where I break down 150 - 170 cardboard boxes in a couple of hours. I need a knife to operate like a well oiled machine. I had one from one of your competitors but had to give it up because they don't make blades for it any longer. No one makes blades to fit it so had to try new knife. This model is the second I've tried. The first was not a Stanley.

1. The button on top of the knife, while depressed, does not slide easily to move the blade in and out of the casing for use. It keeps hanging up on the position notches as I try to slide the blade in or out. In my job, the blade must go in and out many times easily, without hanging up.

2. I have fairly strong hands for a woman, but when trying to insert a new blade, I had difficulty getting the small yellow button depressed deeply enough so the new blade could be inserted properly.

I'm disappointed to take this knife back because it fits my hand. I thought a Stanley product would be better machined to fit together so the parts would work more smoothly together not jerk, tug and yank at my hand while trying to use it. This may seem like a small issue to you but my job is important to me. How your tool operates in my hand makes a lot of difference in how much time it takes me to do my job. A rough operatingId knife like this one can double the time it takes to do my job. I cannot afford that. Purchasing this knife was a mistake.
